Oh sweaty yikes this is accidental cringe because Europe actually has faster average broadband speed than the USA.
I've got a gigabit line but don't pay for the full bandwidth so it's throttled at ~135Mbits.

why is your upload so much slower? I'm in the same situation, I could get gigabit but 150 is quick enough that I've never left the need to upgrade

Not sure probably the Plusnet tier I'm on -- I just chose the cheapest one since I'm not doing a tonne of downloading or uploading.
