Ungh. As one of the resident boomer users here I can assure you this is probably the most peaceful and safest period in the entire history of the human race.
We used to do duck and cover drills in school where the teachers told us that closing the blinds and hiding under your desk would somehow save us from a mega kilo ton nuclear bomb. We we’re trained that, at best, we had 4 minutes of time to somehow save ourselves between the time an alert was issued to impact and this is how we lived every day.
We also had lead in literally everything from plumbing to paint to gasoline that was literally poisoning everyone and turning the oceans acidic. Cars had no catalytic converters and in the summer time the air was so thick with hazy with smog you couldn’t see the tops of buildings from the street levels.
This was just in the late 70s and early 80s we’ve come a really long way in cleaning our shit up in the past 40 years.
There’s so many grifters that want you to believe the world is gonna end in 10 - 12 years it’s been a running theme my whole life.

Yeah, that's why I plan to be less selfish and narcissistic than our existing elites: because I know that there's always going to be some young and ambitious version of me waiting in the wings to start a revolution and kill me the second they can build a justifiable public case for it - so I want to avoid giving them that pretext. I don't want to hold onto power even a second longer than I can responsibly use it because doing so would effectively be signing my own death warrant.
Also, if I ever get power, I don't plan to do the nepo baby shit that our inbred elites currently do because in the world that I hope to build, there will be substantial penalties for leaders who fail to lead well, up to and including death (if the leadership failure is massive enough). Therefore as a responsible parent it would be my duty to make sure my kids never held one of these positions unless I was absolutely sure they would be good at it, since I would be endangering their lives by putting them into a position of authority that they were poorly equipped to handle.
