A U.S. judge late on Thursday blocked Montana's first-of-its kind state ban on the use of short-video sharing app TikTok from taking effect on Jan. 1, saying it violated the free speech rights of users.

Is it though? I'm legitimately curious how that counts as a 1st amendment violation. If the bill blocked accounts, I could see it. Banning a platform doesn't seem anymore unconstitutional than banning some radio frequencies due to being used by the government.

I think, from how the law interprets it, it's more akin to banning a newspaper or blog site than to a radio frequency.
