>invented Calculus
>father of modern physics
>got into slap-fights with kraut mathematician (Yes, you stole Calculus from me Leibniz, even though I never showed my papers to anyone before you did )
>got into petty fights with Robert Hooke
>sent people to the gallows for counterfeiting as Master of the Mint
>was into alchemy, wanted to create the philosopher's stone
>possibly an Arian, hated !catholics and believed the world is going to end in 2060 according to napkin Bible/Charlemagne math
>lost a fortune on a meme stock market investment
>died a virgin, claimed he was engaged once
!historychads !physics what crazy stories you know about Newton?

Newton's story is insane. He discovered the rules for calculus and wrote them down at roughly the same rate college students learn them today. And that was in his early 20s. He did something that would put him in math history books for the rest of human civilization and he had barely just started his career lol. Probably the smartest person who ever lived (that we know of). This is what happens when someone spends their life on something other than the pursuit of kitty.

Apparently Tesla was actually a bit of a brainlet when it came to physics, his contributions were almost purely based on a strong intuition about how electricity works. Which is incredibly impressive to me.

Tesla was a brilliant engineer and he had a strong mathematical foundation when it came to electricity, an empirical example would rather fit Faraday.
The problem is that Tesla was a crackpot when it came to other fields in physics besides electromagnetism, his cosmology takes for instance.
He didn't believe in General Relativity and was fond of the "ether" theory.

Tesla was a m'lady type but he had severe OCD and couldn't stand foids wearing earrings.
Newton was peak volcel, he hated when his friends tried to present him some woman to engage, he simply had zero interest.

Newton was a prime sperg and the funny thing is despite having so many accomplishments and contributions in mathematics, optics and mechanics his favorite subject were theology and alchemy. The man spent hundreds of pages and thousands of hours writing some of the most schizo religious takes and theories.

You can't blame anyone for working hard at chemistry and not getting it at that time. These weren't tards. They had a bunch of theories that kind of make sense. The 4 elements are them groping at understand carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen. Around the 1500s there was this alternate theory that was all about metals. How in the heck were they supposed to know that it's both of those plus a bunch of other things that don't fit into either mold? And these poor bastards, they didn't even a decent goddarn glass beaker to work with.
