My canoe is a bit heavy at 75lb, I usually take it out with a second person. You can get lighter, smaller two seater Canoes though. The kayak is closer to 45lb, 10.5' and I can easily load it onto the car myself.

I'm definitely going kayaking this week. One of my favorite vacations was to the Apostle Islands. We kayaked the lake Superior sea caves. It's permanently 42 degrees 5 feet below the surface of the water.

I like the concept of kayaking I would like to try it on The Strid, however I must ask what's the chances of falling out of the kayak? As it has a 100% mortality rate IF I fall in.
