I have really bad insomnia and I don't know what to do. Do you have any advice?

It's getting really bad and taking a toll on me physically (mentally I'm doing well, thankfully).

I drink so much caffeine to cope but I am guessing that's just messing me up more later.

I take melatonin but I don't think it's working anymore. Benadryl makes me depressed the next day for some reason? CBD doesn't really work. A hot shower doesn't help. I have a weighted blanket 🧩 and weighted eye mask.

I am thinking of doing CBT for insomnia (really strict rules around sleep hygiene) but am scared bc it does involve a bit of sleep deprivation while adjusting (no naps allowed). I haven't been exercising much lately but maybe that will help.

Does anyone have any advice? Or something that will help me fall asleep tonight? :/ 100dc for each real suggestion.

Edit: wtf

It's the caffeine. You need to lower or cut the caffeine, and the screen time. The meme making fun of redditors has been posted here multiple times "why can't I sleep starter pack.' Exercise, diet, limit stims, deal with stress, etcetera. Nothing else anyone says is going to be a good solution (even sleeping pills.)

But in the mean time, ya know frick that, this is a good song

This is what gets me. I can't fricking help myself sometimes though (like today).

So I just read when I'm up at night.

It can be tough to do the simple things you need to do, unironically.

Idk, I pound coffee twelve hours a day but if I work hard I'll still fall asleep the moment my head hits the pillow. Obviously caffeine is a problem, but I think exercise is more important.

All of it is important, what they may have taught anyone in grade school health class, but if she noticed the caffeine, that's a good place to start, especially if she doesn't spend all day tearing pitbulls' jaws off with her bare hands like you.

Yeah cutting caffeine is probably easier to stick with than regular exercise, but I will say that murdering three dozen large dogs a day barehanded is a healthy habit more people should pick up.

Plus one on the caffeine, it's actually so bad for your sleep.
