Really happy with how they turned out. I'm going to borrow the car for a day coming soon to take some more details of the engine and interior. Next car I'm shooting is a 1989 Porsche 928 S4.

How'd it compare to your 911?

While the 612 has a lot more horsepower and is a little over a second faster to 60mph, it feels like a much larger car. Reminds me of driving an E39 M5, or more so an E38 7-Series with an M5 drivetrain swap. The 911 is really, really raw in comparison, but that might be because of the semi-solid engine mounts, manual, no cats, and lightweight flywheel.

That said, when I replaced my old Boxster with the 911, the 911 felt like a more subdued and heavy car - until I had the confidence to really hammer on it and then I realized I just wasn't using all of the power.

I personally have money problems but my mom is well off and currently pays for everything lol. She just won't pay for car stuff or any other non-necessities.

I just got a fun gig though as a personal assistant. Basically being paid $30/hour to keep cars healthy, change smoke detector batteries, and clean out a warehouse full of old car stuff and memorabilia out in California.

It's not a shitload of money but it's enough while I work on getting my photography business back off the ground.

Yeah I didn't like get what the big deal with German cars were till I learned you can't be afraid to redline them. I'm thinking about getting about getting a 996 next year for something fun to drive on the weekends. Outside of the headlights is there any reason to to not get one of these strictly from the perspective of a fun driving experience?

Look up bore scoring and it will ruin it for you. It wasn't a known issue when I bought mine back in 2013 but it is now and mine's starting to get it. I just plan on trying to enjoy mine and selling it at a loss once it needs a rebuild.

986 Boxster S or 987 Boxster S can be had for like $20k, tons of fun, decent enough power, and don't suffer from bore scoring.
