I'm trying to find an app that can record phone calls. A simple task. But literally no app can do it because "google said no and removed the heckin' api!!!" (except in india, they can still records all the calls they want)
These people must be the laziest peepeesuckers to ever live, "Oh noes there no api 4 dat!!!!" It's a fricking linux system isn't it? Just get root access and record any data sent to the speaker while a call is in progress!
But even dev refuses, citing "muh security, muh play sotre rulzzzz, muh legality" as if any of that matters a single frick to the end user
inb4: "But you can't just intercept that data, muh SElinux!" disable it. You can do it, you have root.
inb4: "why don't you do it then?" Because I know nothing about andorid, have never written a single app using their SDK (I just compile my go/c/d for linux/arm and use a termnial app as a wrapper) and can't find out which device file gaydroid uses for the main speaker because every result is "make big $$$$ making your first app TODAY" Because android is the new web 4.0 and infested with jeets
!codecels I wish ubuntuphone had taken off

You can't get root access without a rooted phone.
https://f-droid.org/packages/com.github.axet.callrecorder/ works but only if your phone supports the API.

Apparently LineageOS includes call recording in the default dialer.

Recording the speaker using the mic is not call recording, it's digital AIDS

Exactly, that program doesn't support that ability.

Neat. I've been putting off install lineage too long anyways

Honestly it's pretty good. Only GrapheneOS is better imo, and that's Pixel exclusive.

And like a million other pixel roms it doesn't support the still pretty new pixel 3
My s5 had 8 years of support from lineage and still has unofficial updates.

At least they have a good reason for it. GrapheneOS exists mainly for security, and if the firmware is out of date that compromises that goal.
