Can a :marseysaulgoodman: answer a question for me about the legal process?

I have a former friend (emphasis former) that is on trial for being a fricking gross p-do. I've been keeping up with his docket and so far his arraignment has been pushed back twice. Could anyone with a law background explain how this happens? I thought an arraignment is supposed to happen right away after arrest. He's in Texas if that matters.

There are multiple reasons an arraignment can be pushed back; more often than not it's a scheduling issue and has nothing to do with the importance of the case.

Good to know, thanks. We're just all worried he's gonna avoid punishment somehow, the waiting is hard.

We had thought this might be the case, wait it out as long as possible in the hope the victim doesn't want to testify anymore. All of this is conjecture though, we're all pretty in the dark about what's going on.

Thank you, he was one of my closest friends for half a decade, the hurt is pretty indescribable. :marseyknowthatfeelbro:
