Can I make it across a busy 4-lane street? There's a lot of variables to consider:
This is my first day walking any long distance in months, my leg is still really fricked up, and I'm exhausted.
Sure are a lot of cars. Maybe when the lanes on this side are empty I can get over to the median and rest there for a while. Is that even wide enough for me to stand on?
I'm just worried since I almost fell a couple times outside the PT's office. If I fell while crossing this street I might not be able to get back up again. I'm wearing dark clothes so a driver might not even see me and run over me.
Hey, wait a second. Remember when you saw a drunk guy trying to jaywalk across this street about 50m farther up? Remember when a van slammed into his head and killed him right in front of you? This is probably not an auspicious place for jaywalking.
(Yes, I really did have this thought process today. I'm exhausted.)
