I won't call it likely but if Trump really runs up the margins in states like CA and NY, then he's got a shot. That's part of the reason for his recent rallies in those states, apart from shoring up competitive House seats, he's aiming for the popular vote.
If Trump manages to get the polling margin nationally just a point closer on Election Day, his history of over performing the polls should place him at a decent chance of actually pulling a 0-1 percent win. Right now based on the numbers and statistics I'd say there is a 20-30 percent chance he does.
Trump always outperforms polls, and right now polls are close.
So yes, I could definitely see him winning the popular vote by maybe 2%.
My hope is that it will be a mandate of the people for Trump. Both popular vote and 300+ EC.
