Democrats supported succeeding from the union and keeping slaves after being founded by the complete badass Andrew Jackson. Then the democrats fought to oppress minorities as long as possible. Then after holding up giving civil rights for decades, the democrats decided that republicans are the real racist upon realizing they would never win another election again if they didn't get all the brown people back on the democrats plantation. So there was a party switch. When? Who knows but the republicans are the bad guys.
