Things not her fault: Biden stayed on too long, by the time he left there just wasn't time to run a proper campaign
Things maybe partly her fault: the party just dropped her in as the candidate, no choice, no debate. Done deal before the convention.
Things all her fault: Hillary Mark II - just not likeable. Not as awful as Hillary, but at the same time, no depth to her. She was attorney in California and then a senator. As AG, she did a lot of unpopular stuff being tough on crime that she has now flip-flopped on. As senator, she did nothing but jump on bandwagons (remember the 'make lynching a special crime' bill she and Corey Booker tried to get passed, all off the back of the Jussie Smollett affair?) She didn't have any policies, and whatever she did have, she didn't distance herself from Biden. Partly because as VP, she doesn't seem to have done anything that ever achieved any result, partly because the reliance as "I was VP, I have experience, Biden administration much better than Trump administration" need. Too much reliance on memes - brat, coconut, cool queen Kamala. Picked the worst running mate - Walz appeals to who, exactly? Dodged all public appearances and interviews that she could, because she can't handle anything that is not scripted within an inch of its life. At base, there was nothing there to Kamala Harris, potential President of the United States, and the voters could see that.
