There are many phenomena exclusive to the modern age described as being part of it, but in this case the phenomena I am referring to are "don't use a web scraper (which relies on legal methods of accessing a website) to make requests faster than you could manually", "don't download pictures that women posted on publicly accessible websites" and "don't put a comment/rating section under those pictures", which are key plot points of the movie due to these regulations being enforced by both the legal system and unreasonably powerful student demographic affinity groups, although this is not the only reason it's (accidentally, in a similar way that Joker was but with more ideological messaging and less generic rebelliousness) a chud movie.
