Why don't these bitches just go run? Get good at distance running and you can burn over a thousand calories in 2 hours

Then idk what the problem is lol just run more. I never go over my calories on my long run days. Sometimes I end up way under because I'm not in the mood to consume ~2800 calories for dinner

You can do over 1000 in one hour if you're good. If you're 70+ kg and run for a few months, you should be able to run 13-15 km in an hour. That's easily over 1000 if you run a route that's even slightly hilly, or on grass/gravel/dirt :hamtarotreadmill:

13-15k in an hour after a few months of training is a bit of a stretch but I agree

I went from nothing to 10km in an hour, took 5 months of biweekly 5km runs. So it's possible

Yeah but 6.2 miles in an hour to 8-9 miles in an hour is a big leap

Kids who could run a 6 minute mile got scouted for cross country, I doubt the average burger has a chance at a 7min pace for multiple miles

Scouted for high school or college? I was running ~6:10 min/mile during my 5ks at my peak and I wasn't even one of the fast kids running sub 18s

HS, the coach at my school was probably desparate tbh, we had one black kid

Ah that makes sense

You're right. I was thinking about someone who used to run taking a break then getting back into it. But for someone who never ran, 13 km in an hour is tough even with a few months of training

Heck, I used to be a decent cross country runner back in high school and after almost a decade of no serious running idk if I could bust out a sub 1hr 8-miler and I've been back running since January

What was your 5K PR?

I haven't trained for a race since high school. I run 5-6x a week now, mostly to reduce stress and stay in shape. I bet my mile and 5K times suck compared to high school, even if aerobically I'm about the same

It was 19:12, I believe. That was over a decade ago but my goal this year is to beat that time because I don't wanna admit that my teenage self was faster than my current self. (I'd also love to run a marathon and also hit 1000 miles this year :marseyexcited:)

My current 5k PR is 22:29 :mars#eyitsover:

But it's so hot out and I haven't tried for a new PR in a few months since I've been focusing on distance and just steeling myself to the suffering that comes with summer running . I could probably run a sub 22 if I went for it in this heat but ideally when it cools down my times should (theoretically) skyrocket

Wbu?
