Going to be much worse in the distant future. There's literally tens of billions of USD worth of weapons that have been dumped into Ukraine. You can find that shit littered around the countryside everywhere. I've seen photo's of trucks carrying things like Javelins that got hit and were simply abandoned and all that stuff is just laying there in forested areas. Yes mines are the worst, especially the small anti-personnel ones that don't kill you but blow off a child's leg or something. But even regular munitions can remain deadly for nearly a century. We are spending significant resources in demining all of the captured territories. Sappers spent over two months going through every inch of Mariupol before residential reconstruction even began. They used those extremely heavy steamroller vehicles and drove over every inch of residential land.

Petal mines have not been in service with Russian forces for decades. It is Ukrainians that still use them, they dropped thousands of them onto Donetsk city center in the residental parks. We used our T-72 tanks to drive over them for safe detonation. Here's a video:
