Is there any reason to keep a broadband post 5G? :marseythinkorino:

Was doing some heavy downloads recently(>20GB files) and my 5G net used as hotspot was giving speeds around 6-7MB/s while broadband was at 5-6. Know broadband can be scaled up more but don't really need speeds that high anyway. Basically any loc with broadband at this point has 5G coverage. My phone plan costs like 30% what the lowest tier broadband plans do.

Unlimited Gb/s Internet was on par with my data limited phone bill, personally. Worth it

I could pay a bit more for "unlimited" mobile data, but they can still throttle you in the US because we just let advertisers lie, and I usually don't go over 5-10 Gb of data on my 50Gb mobile plan.

What's speed like with unlimited gb/s?

It's gigabit internet. 1Gigabit per second (bit not bytes/s). It's usually close to that.

Ah. Those higher tier broadband plans are way too expensive here, they start from a very low base to get subscribers but I think higher tier plans get priced in accordance with int norms.

not worth it for that much of an upgrade. In the US if you live around a university or research/medical center, they've already laid the fiber years ago and they give you a good deal because the lines are already there, and it's often +$10-25/mo from a normal 50 or 100Mb/s plan.

I think our cellular providers probably frick us over way more than yours do so that also tips the equation.

Too expensive. Wait is that $600 for a year? I'm used to seeing it listed by monthly rate lol

If that's for the year it's about the same yes.
