All the actual experts (not just me!) are leaning the other way for a variety of reasons. I was just listening to Aaron David Miller
on the Foreign Policy Live podcast give a good explanation of this. Among other things, Hamas wanted to do this themselves so why tell Iran? Then if there's spies in Iran it blows all their efforts at secrecy.

Iran likely has far more Israeli spies per capita than Palestine does, if for the simple reason that there is a significant liberal opposition in Iran that doesn't care about/supports Israel while most Palestinians are mad about the whole thing about 2 million people being crammed into Gaza while the West Bank is carved into swiss cheese.
That, and as you mentioned, Hamas is an MB Sunni thing - Iran's proxy in the region is Hezbollah.
