Notoriously antisemitic news source explains what really happened with the exploding pagers

https://www.timesofisrael.com/use-it-or-lose-it-israel-reportedly-set-off-pagers-amid-fears-plot-was-exposed/

TLDR: They expected Hezbollah was just about to figure out that the pagers were tampered with so that's why they set them off now.

This explains a lot. I was really confused at how they could be smart enough to pull off an operation like this but then stupid enough to set it off at a random time. You would expect an attack like this to happen on day 1 of an invasion when it would cause maximum chaos.

Stuxnet was made by Americans. The Israelis were responsible for delivering it, almost certainly through the People's Mujaheddin of Iran. And they managed to frick that up so it spread around the world and was discovered.

I know because the day it was revealed to the world there was this story in Reuters (I think, something like that) describing how it had been made at the Idaho National Laboratory. You could tell these guys were extremely butthurt at not getting credit for what they did.
