Israel never prioritized the hostages. I think Hamas would make a deal, it was Israel insisting on absolute victory. If they feel they can declare it at this point, even with Hamas still standing, Israel will look for a deal to release the hostages.
But they might have reached a stupid middle point where Hamas is too fragmented to coordinate the release of all remaining hostages. It'd just be lots of local warlords that you can't collectively negotiate with.

Israel said it wants two things from this war, Hamas destroyed and the hostages back. I agree that they don't prioritise the hostages, but they can still use them as an excuse to keep bombing Gaza. I guess it all depends on what their intelligence tells them about the situation and how much pressure USA can put on them

It's kinda nutty that ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and Hamas have been greatly reduced in this past decade, with Hezbollah's fate uncertain. They're still cells active but they're nowhere near their peak strengths. Only the Taliban really succeeded and they're fighting the remnants of ISIS-K right now.
