I would absolutely love to take a trip there someday! looks beautiful and way warmer then here. do you guys have good cafes or is that not such a big thing over there?

I want to go to Singapore some day. I think I would survive since I also speak Mandarin and most people there can conversate in Singlish from what I've been told.
Mandarin might help a bit with the older folx or people from China here but almost everyone here knows English. In fact our Chinese language skills are so bad we have campaigns for it lol
I think maybe the Indians, since there's not really a standardized "Indian" language. I know a few Indian friends who take up Mandarin instead in school, since we have to learn English and one of the native languages. Malays still speak it a lot amongst themselves so they might still be safe in that regard.
