Asked for comment, a Google spokesperson told IGN that it was a "small experiment."
"We're running a small experiment globally that urges viewers with ad blockers enabled to allow ads on YouTube or try YouTube Premium," they said via email. "Ad blocker detection is not new, and other publishers regularly ask viewers to disable ad blockers."

Yes, I will.
Youtube has a problem with looping videos. It works for a certain number of times and for a certain length, but I often had issues when listening to a DJ set that the sound stopped after 2-3 loops. So I downloaded the sets with yt-dl and now loop them indefinitely on my pc.
I also stopped using free spotify for ad reasons. Not because I hate ads, but because the ads were always the same. After 5 hours I knew the words of the ads and then stopped listening.
