Well you just ruined my joke :marseydisagree:

Never used linux before this year, but had some weird VCredist issue after formatting that I never figured out.

Someone suggested installing Mint. I still use a windows laptop for most of my work stuff but never installing windows on my desktop again :#marseypenguin:

I've considered building a cheap media server and using Linux but idk I'm old and set in my boomer ways. Boomers were all about Linux though. I'm a new age boomer.

I had never interacted with linux since trying ubuntu like 15 years ago. Mint is basically autismo-light

It definitely took some getting used to for around a week and a lot of looking things up. Very frustrating having to google something that you know how to do 30 different ways on windows.

But now that I have gotten used to it I am also set in my newly found air of smugness that comes with being a linux user.

THIS POST RESTS ON NATIVE :marseytrain: LANDS, godspeed internet neurodivergents for letting me post on a cat gay dating forum without interacting with windows :#marseysaluteusa: :#marseytrain:

That feeling of knowing how to do something on windows and being clueless on Linux just goes away over time. You need to unlearn the Windows habit of needing to trick Windows into doing what you want.

Literally everything just boils down to some program reading some config file on your computer somewhere, and sometimes you can change that config file with a GUI.

Yeah Linux Mint is peak boomer desktop metaphors. It does Windows better than Windows.
