I could say “please don’t make me turn my screen brightness all the way up” in the same vein - dark-mode only websites are borderline unreadable for some people, and in my experience, about 80% of websites that I visit that don’t respect my browser’s selected color scheme (via prefers-color-scheme) are dark-mode only, with a simple CSS override leaving me with white-on-white text. It goes both ways 🤷

I will admit I never really considered dark mode to be an accessibility feature until receiving a request for dark mode on app that was going to be used in darkened industrial control rooms. For some people, it really is important.

I got some good suggestions yesterday, did a bit more research and made a few changes.
I wasn't really paying attention and didn't know that the non-X 7000 series just came out like a month ago and tbh the 7900 looks so much better than the 7900x I was originally going to use. Significantly lower power draw, runs significantly cooler, actually comes with a cooler, not that much worse performance, and if I really want to I can just up the power draw and get performance darn near a 7900x anyway.

Yes I know full tower is a meme, no I don't care. I have the space, I don't care what it looks like, my PC never moves, it makes the build and cable management so much easier, and it's future proof because who knows how monstrous video cards will be in five years if I want to upgrade. This one is more expensive than I was looking for but I don't really like the g*mer aesthetic that cheaper ones have and the USB, headphone jack, etc placement is very convenient for where my PC is located relative to me. I didn't even want the side cutout but the options for a full tower without a side cutout are pretty barren and at least this one is dark.
ty to everyone who pointed out that 1000W was overkill, 850W is still probably overkill (especially after switching to a 7900 from a 7900x) but 750W is only like $10 cheaper so why not have the extra overhead tbh.
The video card is blank because I have no fricking idea what to do there. Suggestions from yesterday's thread were all over the place, everything from "just buy an A750 and wait lol" to "just buy a 4070Ti it's only $800 lol." If I go with this build I'm just going to pull the 1070 from my current PC and wait like six months to see what happens.
Overall it's a bit overkill but that's kind of what I'm going for. I checked on when I built my current PC and it was almost seven years ago. It still has a bit of life in it and that's what I want from a new one too, something that will last me 6+ years with the option to upgrade it down the line if I want to.

To train the MineDojo framework to play Minecraft, researchers fed it 730,000 Minecraft YouTube videos (with more than 2.2 billion words transcribed), 7,000 scraped webpages from the Minecraft wiki, and 340,000 Reddit posts and 6.6 million Reddit comments describing Minecraft gameplay.
From this data, the researchers created a custom transformer model called MineCLIP that associates video clips with specific in-game Minecraft activities. As a result, someone can tell a MineDojo agent what to do in the game using high-level natural language, such as "find a desert pyramid" or "build a nether portal and enter it," and MineDojo will execute the series of steps necessary to make it happen in the game.

You’d think that a company selling motherboards directly to desktop PC builders would have a little bit of faith that those users can assemble a PC. Apparently, that’s not the case for Asrock, at least on some variants of its high-end motherboards for the new AMD AM5 socket. Several Reddit users opened their X670E motherboards to find a huge sticker covering the RAM DIMM slots, which in at least some cases has caused damage to the slots when the user removed it. According to the Reddit posts spotted by TechSpot, the sticker is ostensibly meant as a guide for installing the RAM.
Several users reported that the sticker tore when they removed it, leaving behind a sticky residue and an incredibly delicate cleanup job. Buyers ready to assemble brand new, screaming-fast Ryzen 7000 desktops with these very pricey motherboards were not amused. An official statement from Asrock says the company will accept exchanges on motherboards that have sticker residue on the RAM slots. It also says that an updated version of the BIOS solves the long initial boot problem, and thus new motherboards won’t come with the sticker.
