Because it is generally agreed that defending armies if trained well can defend up to ratios of around 3:1.

Shelling means frick all it if did Ukraine would already be Russian and WW1 would have taken 2 weeks. It is not an effective strategy to move people out an area.

>Traditionally it is accepted that a defending force has a 3:1 advantage over an attacker. In other words, a defending force can hold off three times its own number of attackers

??? This is a general rule, doesnt mean that it applies everytime, many times in history it didnt apply.

Also what makes you think ukros are well trained? They get a few weeks training before being rushed to the frontlines, not to mention ukraine is in a severe artillery and aviation disadvantage.

The Ukrainian army has been being trained by the British and Americans ever since Crimea was annexed you dopey twat. And they are still actively being trained in the UK.

The last 2 points are just further reasons its fricking embarrassing that Russia still hasn’t made any real gains. Who is stopping them?

Each soldier gets 2 weeks of training, you think thats enough to survive in a war like this?

Other soldiers have actually been trained in the UK, according to the article. It would appear that the training course is approximately two weeks long for each participant
