Pretty much all of Ukrainian air force was destroyed in the first 2 days of the war, and most of it on the ground. They had more (actually functional) planes and helicopters than the rest of Europe combined. There's not much footage of that for obvious reasons, and now that they get like 2 planes a month from eurocucks no shit there's not much to shoot down.
Russia lost a few helis and planes yes, it's a drop in the bucket if you compare that number to the air fleet size.

That isn't always the case and usually hasn't been for conflicts over the last 20-30 years. Unless you think somehow Russia lost more than Georgia did or the US lost more than Iraq. Don't know what else to tell you. This shit depends on how the aggressor attacks, what forces they have vs how the defender tries to hold and what forces they have. Heck, not even last 20-30 years, look at both afghan wars or the world wars.

Even the Ukraine war involves heavy infantry vs infantry combat but Russia has significantly more armor and artillery than Ukraine and de jure air superiority. They should not be losing more than a 1:1 ratio against Ukraine. Even as incompetent as their generals are. The only thing I could think of that would allow for a 1:4 or 1:3 in favor of Ukraine is if Russia's post battle medical treatment is nonexistent compared to the Ukrainian one which doesn't make much sense.
