They are a dictatorship adjacent nation state.
If their population is running 
out they will just open up immigration 
from Central Russia 
and Belarus 
even further.
The Russian 
elite 
are separate from the Russian 
commoners so the Russian 
elite 
are free to do anything 
it takes to make more money 
for themselves.
If the population decline slows down the economy they would 
let in more hoards of foreign immigrants that will make the middle 
eastern 
immigrant crisis to Europe 
look like child's play.
Conclusion:
Russia will become a major 
immigrant destination in the future 
similar to Saudi 
Arabia.

In most of the worst offending pieces of journ*lism, it isn't that Russia's future existence isn't doubted, but the territorial integrity of Russia's most far flung lands are. Russian expansionism mirrored American expansion's claiming a great amount of territory “relatively” recently, but the people in proximity (I.e. losers) to those territories (CCCP) have historical claims that they choose to not make any claim towards at the moment because of the timing and convenience of doing so now is inopportune.

Oh yeah Russia's territorial integrity is for sure doomed as it won't have enough
people to hold the amount of land it has with other nation states 
actively willing 
to push to take its corner territories if the opportunity arises.
