Ukraine: loses territories, can't enter NATO, but still gets protected by NATO
Russia: keeps Ukraine as a buffer state, keeps the conquered territories, but has to deal with even more NATO at it's borders

Europe will also have to finance the whole buffer zone thing with it's own people, tech and money, so we lose too. But at least this proves he doesn't want to give up on NATO, so again it could be worse
