Ukraine: loses territories, can't enter NATO, but still gets protected by NATO
Russia: keeps Ukraine as a buffer state, keeps the conquered territories, but has to deal with even more NATO at it's borders

You r-slurs keep forgetting what the war was originally about. The Russians weren't trying to take over some border areas. They were going for Kiev and the entire country. You can hardly say the Russians have won and Ukrainian resistance was pointless.

Oh I know they came for it all, and Ukr has done well in halting their progress, but lets pretend DDR doesnt force anything here at all and keeps away from the conflict. How does it play out and end in your mind other than:
As soon as it was clear that you were alone in this fight (almost the very beginning of the war) the only proper thing to do was to move to quick end and go through diplomacy. Ukr is still not being let into NATO or EU and this was a major concern for russia even starting the war. This could have literally ended through diplomacy years ago without major loss of life and territory, but only if Ukr agreed to take the L up front, and the reality of this is that compared to what you could have gained with diplomacy Ukr threw it all away for nothing, especially as it seems DDR will force them to accept the L they should have negotiated weeks out rather than years out.

He will have to accept it, because if DDR tells him to accept it or lose funding he will lose the entire war. No more tanks, no more guns, no more rifles, and dwindling numbers of soldiers... he cannot and will not make it. The war of attrition will collapse and at that point russia just has to walk their way to victory.
