Ukraine: loses territories, can't enter NATO, but still gets protected by NATO
Russia: keeps Ukraine as a buffer state, keeps the conquered territories, but has to deal with even more NATO at it's borders

Its just giving russia what it wants, and "freezing" the conflict which we have seen in every conflict of the last 30 years is just a blank check for the agressor to resume the attack at the time and place of his choosing.

Yet no one talks about reasonable alternatives. Ukraine can't push Russia out with what they have, the West isn't going to intervene directly, and when Russia finally reaches their breaking point, they'll just dig in and say come and take your territory back which Ukraine can't do.
Only thing I hope is that if Russia doesn't come to the table, we keep sending stuff. Cripple them for several more decades past the point they're at now.
