True, but Bruno Mars did his close to his peak. Timberlake's first one was when he was still active. Lady Gaga and Katy Perry did theirs right after too.
At any rate, Usher doesn't deserve a lifetime achievement award. The only other headliner that I could say the same is Coldplay and Maroon 5, but even Coldplay wasn't bad because they invited Beyonce.
