It went downhill when the straggy authors and playerbase related more with the undead inhuman monsters to make them sympathetic against "BIGOTED HUMANITY HOW DARE THEY NOT BECOME VAMPIRE BLOOD CATTLE"

The whole concept of humanity and the beast in the setting with generations showcases how fricking weird and alien vampires are they are. Methuselahs look barely human anymore and have a truly fricked perspective of the world compared to normal humans.
