MTG has been getting like this.  About once a year, me and my boys will buy a booster box and have a draft and frick around for the day. Synchro and XYZ were good mechanics. It was after Pendulums that the game started really going to shit. Links were the final nail in the coffin.
Pendulums during MR3 were absolute cancer to play against. The only good change those Master Rules brought was removing the +1 draw when going first. I still have nightmares of going up against full power PePe :marseyscared: . Then MR4 came and it somehow managed to be even more cancerous than MR3.
