Fantasy races trigger me. So can't have those. Also magic goes against Christ so also a trigger. Not to mention how vile violence is so can't have any of that.

Finally we can have a good wholesome DND game!

In fantasy land humans in a specific region drink from their river. That river is full of chemicals thus lead to humans in those region to be smaller and have hairy feet - so they look different from normal humans. Those humans are also known to be quite fond of food. You and your friends play characters of these people.

Recently the historian of your small town had learned of the presumed location of a legendary old cookbook that your people thought to have lost for centuries. You and your friends gather your cowtools, rations (lots of them!) and prepare for an epic journey through the lands - facing nature itself. How will you cross a ravenous river, overcome a gigantic mountain range while keeping a full stomach? And will you be able to keep your humanity - cause everyone knows an empty stomach can turn anyone insane!

Just normal skill checks (swimming, climbing, ...), ability to craft cowtools. Depending on your violence level threshold also hunting animals for food, if not then only gathering for that. Maybe trading/social interaction with other people. Most important aspect is cooking. It's a design similar to combat in other systems, and depending on the outcome it will affect the insanity/mentality system.
