giganerds wait "in line" (online) for five hours to buy superhero Magic cards only for them to immediately sell out

They used to do Secret Lair cards print to demand. They would open orders, whoever wanted the cards could buy them, and they'd print however many people bought and ship them out. That was too convenient and made the cards too accessible so for a lot of drops they now only sell a limited quantity. The latest limited drop was for some very strong Marvel themed cards. They implemented a weird system where instead of buying the cards when they dropped you got put into a queue to be allowed to buy them. For unknown reasons the queue lasted for five hours and most people who were waiting didn't even get to buy the cards :mjlol:. Redditors are mad that they're too r-slurred to just proxy and will have to pay hyperinflated secondary market prices to get their Marvel fix.

As always WotC always wins.

I don't understand the disdain for proxying cards

I think it's mostly "investors" who profit more as it becomes more pay to win.

If you can proxy, you don't need to spend $500 on the super special card they bought dozens of on release day in order to win your local card shop tourney

Also the people who bought/pulled those cards don't want someone else to be on an equal playing field for free
