Trench Crusade has always seemed straggy to me. "Argh, those darn liberals ruined Warhammer, they made it go woke. I know, I'll show them by making a new wargame where instead of fighting for the God-Emperor against daemons, you fight for the Christian God against demons and black people! Heh, I really showed those liberals." :chudsmug: It's Warhammer with what little sense of joy it had sucked out of it.

I really like the way the game looks but have no idea what the lore is. That seems kinda straggy but the appearance is still sick

Traitor templars opened a portal to heck during the crusades. Now Satan and friends want to directly enslave humanity. It's been four hundred years of on again off again war against the forces of heck. Muslims got an iron wall from God protecting them. Christians have miles and miles and miles of trenches. The new world and Asia hasn't been fleshed out but most of the Muslims from southeast Asia have moved to the Caliphate so things probably suck there as well. My suggestion of fairies and the old gods as a neutral faction went over like a lead ballon in spite of that being the medieval view of them. I just wanted to use my tomb king army again. Yes, really. St. Augustine or some orthodox thinker claimed the pagan gods existed but only as thought constructs. You could call them up and talk to them but they were about as helpful as a typical sparrow or crow. One medieval monk who really loved the norse tale claimed the gods were distorted memories of the Heroes of Troy for some reason.

I just want to make a jolly trench pilgrim team led by a conman prophet who impregnated the daughter of a mayor back home and got volontold for military service after the shotgun wedding because the mayor hated him. The "trench pilgrim prophet" was just his way to get out of military service in New Antioch. It's worked way way too well and now he's leading his merry band of psychopaths against the forces of heck and every day praying to God to "at least let me die quickly". The game needs a lot more weird whimsy and black humour like that. Also black people, in the form of Ethiopia, are one of the good-guy factions. Most of the villains have their skin burnt off because the devil is a b-word.
