finally bought a sewing machine :3

it's a singer heavy duty 4423

i mostly use my grandma's machine which is.. very old, it's s good machine but this one is much more gentle and refined :marseychefkiss:

speed control is much better and finer :marseyokay:

i bought the 23 instead of the 11 cause they were the same price for some reason :marseythonk:

been trying it out on old fabric, not a single complain so far

bought some fabric to make a cute apron (and because im so lucky, the exact fabric i needed was in discount !!)

i might take measurements and maybe even cut it tomorrow night, but i'll only start sewing it on the weekend

also been working on a framed embroidery for a friend, it's just kind of enormous so it'll take a bit to finish lol https://i.rdrama.net/images/1709854941118416.webp

also also started https://cooking.boymoder.biz for the cute boymoders in here who want to cook something nice for theirs bfs :3

God Singer pisses me off. I have a model with an embroidery attachment. It requires a specific software.

The attachment will not work without the software, the software cannot be used for anything besides that attachment.

If you lose your disc, a replacement is $99.

But the software is not compatible with anything newer than Windows XP.

They did release a software update that fixes compatibility with newer versions of Windows.

That update is also $99 and requires you have the base software first, with the included instructions telling you to use Task Manager to kill setup.exe when it gets stuck at 99%.

$198 for 50MB of software that can't do anything beyond import premade files and send them to the attachment, with zero controls beyond that. It randomly speeds up while embroidering, even if it's too fast for your particular fabric. You cannot choose the speed.

On the plus side, i got the machine for free. My sister's mother in law left it in her basement. Had to buy the software on eBay, but used it to make an embroidered blanket for my niece's baptism
