Used to be great, now they're shit. Old thinkpads were sturdy, serviceable, and generally high quality. New ones are just lame generic laptops with a trackpoint.

my T420 was so good. Not like super fast, but very sturdy. It also had a special access port on the bottom where you could undo a single screw and then get direct access to replace/upgrade the memory modules, VERY useful if you're on a budget.
The little nub thing sucks though and anybody who likes it is r-slurred.
