Interesting. I did some digging and came across this link.
In it, the original developer claims she never intended Isabela to be white, and used "the second darkest skin tone available." Strangely enough she claims that Isabela wasn't important enough to get a "second pass" on quality for her face; is this developer calling herself incompetent for not making Isabela's face look less white when she first sculpted it? Weird.
What's extra weird though is she says at the end, "oh she's not supposed to be white, she's Mediterranean," as if Europeans aren't actually white.

I always seethe about criticisms of black representation in vidya and movies.
In games, lighting is hard as frick to deal with. Every ENB makes indoor spaces pitch black and you're dealing with a wide variety of screens with varying contrast ratios.
Even worse in movies. Cameras capture light. Black people reflect less light. Try to record a black man in a cave and you get floating eyes and teeth. It's not racism, it's physics
