"Characters not white enough" in Hogwarts Legacy, "make people whiter" becomes most downloaded mod for the game

https://www.pcgamer.com/players-are-modding-hogwarts-legacy-to-make-their-characters-paler

I haven't seen any sneed yet because Twitter wokescolds are still too busy debating if you should even buy the game at all, but I feel like a mod that makes you whiter is ripe for drama.

I will say the mod supposedly JUST added whiter skin tones, but was soon changed to also include darker skin tones, too. I wonder why...

These mods have always been a thing, I remember the reeeing among Dragon Age fans when someone made a really popular mod that that turned a black companion white. It was even funnier than this because the woman had been white in the previous game so trolls would generate seethe by claiming the mod was just being lore-friendly.

Who is the companion? Are you talking about Vivienne?

Isabella. White in the first game, black in the second.

Interesting. I did some digging and came across this link.

In it, the original developer claims she never intended Isabela to be white, and used "the second darkest skin tone available." Strangely enough she claims that Isabela wasn't important enough to get a "second pass" on quality for her face; is this developer calling herself incompetent for not making Isabela's face look less white when she first sculpted it? Weird.

What's extra weird though is she says at the end, "oh she's not supposed to be white, she's Mediterranean," as if Europeans aren't actually white. :marseyxd:
