It's just insulting that they told people this was part of the Arkham series. If this had been a random alternate universe (which I'm sure this will be retconned to be) people wouldn't care

Isn't the arkham series it's own universe therefore making it an alternative universe from the perspective of all the other batman comic shit

Arkham is sort of a composite Batman universe, it depends a lot on preexisting canon while technically being its own thing.

The secret ending of Arkham Knight implied Batman could have survived, and iirc this game provides some contrived backstory to smooth it over. But yeah, I don't think it was originally planned to be the same timeline.
