I mean, the Halo games and novels is it's own issue. The paramount show is something called Silver Timeline which doesn't affect the main Halo Universe in any way. That was honestly the smartest and only good decision they made. All the rest were shit.

I wanted to cover the wide array of gaming and adaptations. But I reckon even if Halo show had it's own continuity, it would have not been cancelled if they just adapted the source material more closely (or at all in some cases). Also having John Halo take off his helmet in the first episode was even stupider than when they made Cortana into a Cuckqueen with lingering closeup.
