The strange thing about slop is that the normies will enjoy it for a long time after it has gotten stale, but will never criticize or realize that they're playing slop, until the winds change and a new genre/game/series/whatever gets popular. And only then will they be able to identify where the enshittification started. It's a social-based taste, where people like things because they're popular and they're afraid to criticize them or not play them.

GoT was the perfect example of this. Personally I started feeling like the quality of the show dropped significantly after season 4. I was already pretty tired and disappointed with the series by season 6. But if you mentioned this anywhere before season 8 people would look at you like you're crazy. Then Season 8 happened, and within weeks everyone suddenly agreed that the series has been shit since Season 4.

Also, from the charts it doesn't look like it's trending that hard. It's third behind a remake and a CoD game (do people still play these?), and next game on the list is a Monster Hunter title that comes out in 5 months. You'd expect it to be slightly higher if it was an amazing success.

You're going to buy it on sale at some point and no amount of cope posting will change that.

Not really. I've bought about 5 games made after 2016, and I've played 2 of them. I barely still play vidya, and when I do I usually just play the older stuff.

That's a lot of words for "fashions and fads exist"
