Is there one that takes discs? I only really use mine for NMS vidya-wise and that's digital, but it's a nice UHD player which justifies the price because those things are expensive and I have a large collection of physical movies in UHD and Blu-ray. I don't want two fricking ps5s though.

Yeah lol the trifecta of updates yesterday was no new content but three REALLY nice actual upgrades. I'm looking for a reason to get the Pro but the no default UHD compatibility is rough.
Considering just buying a standalone 4K player, trading the PS5 in and grabbing a Pro but that's still over a thousand bucks. Which just seems really excessive for NMS to look even better.
But it's so fricking nice looking 🫦

I think by the time their next game comes out you'll be able to buy the PS disk driver at MSRP price (80 buxx, cheaper than UHD player) or perhaps by around Christmas the disk drivers will be more available

They weren't a scam. 3D capabilities were deliberately gimped because "muh epileptics". Go back to any 3D movie from the 50s, their 3D will far and away blow any modern gay-butt 3D movie. Apart from no longer using those annoying anaglyph glasses, 3D has regressed.

I bought one for myself too, giving the PS5 regular to my oldest so he can stop using it at the exact time I want to use it. I finished the file transfer this morning and plan to swap the internal SSD I installed into the Pro tonight, then wipe the old one. I'm very interested to see how it works. I heard tell they even corrected for the controller drift problem too, but who knows.

Fastest is just move ssd around to transfer games since when you switch ssd between consoles you don't need to format the card at speed transfer between internal and external ssd is faster than through WiFi

Nah they are expensive if my breaks I will just replace the stick with a Hall effect one.
But for real how nobody sued Sony for not letting 3rd parties do ps5 controllers for 4 years now ? All the "official" thirds parties controllers have basically 1 on 1 dual sense motherboard so it's not a new or unique controller. With ps4 you can buy a Lidl or Aldi controller for 5 euro and play but for ps5 you need to buy official one for 70
