Comparing just the years it was active the dreamcast sold just as well if not better then the ganecube. Personally im not a huge gamecube guy. Ps2 had better third party support, dreamcast had better arcade ports, and I just not like Nintendo's over tutorialized game design anymore. I also don't like the gamecube controller it seems like the n64 where it was tailor made for one game and nothing else.
!furries even tho sonuc adventure 1 is better then super io 64 only the dreamcast had the power to render fat bat tats jiggling (the gamecube version censored this)
!g*mers also the dreamcast had the most arcade perfect ports as segas naomi arcade hardware was basically just a dreamcast
Sonic Adventure 1 is better then 64 IF you only play the good characters, but 64 overall more consistent gameplay-quality wise and flow wise.
Adventure 1 definitely has better graphics, but the dreamcast was much strong then the n64 because it released much later, if the 64 disk drive came out and they remastered 64 (like they planned to) then they probably would have been similar and then it would be fair to compare
The levels in adventure 1 were pretty fun, but the overworld is janky, confusing, and needlessly long, which 64 didn't have an issue with.
I own a dreamcast and n64, and have played both games natively, so I feel I'm somewhat entitled to this opinion.
I played the frick out of Dreamcast. Shenume, Dead or Alive series, Echo the Dolphin, Sonic Adventures, Phantasy Star Online, etc were all grwat games.
I unironically love the gamecube controller form factor and button layout - if it had a second shoulder button and the sticks didn't wear out like they do, it would probably be the perfect controller imo

The Dreamcast was a pretty bizarre bit of kit with some truly awful games.
Sonic on that thing was borderline unplayable and I have no idea who decided the MEMORY CARD should be the consoles killer feature.

It was tailor made for most first party games. I still only play Mario Kart with a Gamecube Controller.
