Stylistic choice. I remember seeing a screenshot where someone edited the head size down like 10% and it completely fixed the uncanny feeling of the models.

There's some malice mixed in with the overwhelming lack of talent, tbf. But you're right about the real problem. They're stuck at fanfic-tier writing that shouldn't be seen outside of Tumblr/AO3 but believe they're better then Tolkien because they have black elves.

Part of reason they are stuck to fanfic tier writing is beocuse they dont have way to express themselves.
Nobody wants their books or comics. Nobody will make their own orginal stories.
They are egoistic buttholes stuck to write someones elses vision. And becouse their are narsistic. They try to make it their own. Turning any story their story wearing skin of something else.
That in turn makes everything feel like fanfic

When their own ideas get published, it's all about someone like them, everything by
s is evidence enough of that. It just carries over to the other worlds. The creator of The Acolyte talked about how she could only write about her own life as if it was a good thing, for example. And of course the enby behind Veilguard's enby being parodically Current Year genderspecial.
They can't express themselves creatively because they're not creative. Even the better ones can't get out of their own way with their limitations, with problems like being good with the big dramatic stuff but terrible at how to get the story to the bits they actually want to write.
But what makes it worse and so much part of Culture War rhetoric is how few of them can acknowledge fault. Incredibly few of them can manage to accept criticism, instead blaming the audience for not liking their work, blaming bigotry, saying 'I worked so hard on it!' as if you can't work hard and still produce something bad.
