:redlight: ATTENTION ALL G*MERS :redlight: Game Awards to allow DLC and expansions to be available for all categories. Likely to let Elden Ring win GOTY again

https://i.rdrama.net/images/1731862302283972.webp

Apparently Game Awards edited the FAQ section yesterday to say they are allowing DLC and Expansions to be eligible nominees.

This is an obvious coup to steal the GOTY award from Silent Hill 2 Remake (Geoff Keighley hates Konami, a wildly successful Pachinko and Slot Machine game dev company) or Astro Bot (Geoff is an avid Nintendo 3D platformer supremacist).

This is an affront to G*mers every where and we need to take a stand and show Geoff we are not pleased!

The Elden Ring DLC wasn't even that good. The map had far too much copy + paste of random dragons to pad it out and the lore changes actively shit on the base game. The scadutree fragment system also made it an obnoxiously tuned mess that relied on you scouring the map to find random MacGuffins that would make the game reasonably playable again, but even then most 60 vigour builds would still get 2-3 shot by bosses.

Agreed, it was a step down from the best parts of the base game and on par with the worst parts of it.

The worst thing about the Scadu system is grinding to get the max level of 20, then doing co-op and getting a host who only has a 6 Scadu level. The only reason I did co-op was to test builds without going into NG+, but dealing with shitty hosts who do nothing AND being stuck with shitty damage/health myself, makes it a chore.

Vehemently disagree with the lore being bad, there wasn't even any "changes" just added context :marseyhmmhips: The Marika lore was amazing :marseyexcitedgif:

Only thing I am legitimately disappointed by lore-wise is that they didn't give us anything on the Gloam Eyed Queen, I wanted Michael Zaki to give us the deets but we got literally nothing :marseysad:

The poster child for the DLC, Mesmer, was completely sidelined for the plot that the femboy actually mindraped everyone because he wanted his half-brother to frick him. That revelation actively undermined the agency of numerous characters in the base game.

It's crazy for me that it took them 2 fricking years to make the DLC and it STILL re-used not only assets and enemies from base game, they also copypasted them all over area. So fricking lazy.

Also ton of places were just... empty. That wouldn't be even that big of a problem, but when you run around for 15-20 minutes doing nothing and then find some monument with seemingly an artifact on it and it's just a fricking Spirit Ash upgrade, something went wrong.

I already had Soulshit fatigue in base game, but DLC just went into overdrive.

And don't get me started on story and lore. I want Total Soulstuber Death for validating the whole "environmental storytelling" meme aka we just rewrite the game billion times and then cut half of the shit before release so now one, not even Miyazaki, knows what the frick is going on anymore since everyone just yells about Zanzibarts and asks for forgiveness.
