Id respect him more if he said "it's not going to happen and if it did happen you wouldn't like it no matter what because of the time and vote so touch grass."

nah because it might have happened if it wasn't for L4D2 and TF and stuff, they just lost momentum and didnt have a good reason to return to the series

I would enjoy a new L4D more than a new HL tbh.

Let me play a :marseyboomer: and :marseypuke: on people

It won't happen under him, if they start making it now it will take them 8+ years. He don't look like he has that time left

finishing Half-Life 2: Episode 3 just to conclude the story would've been 'copping out of [Valve's] obligation to g*mers'

It was exactly Valve's obligation to g*mers

Anyone who bought multiple HL2 episodes had the specific expectation that you'd be doing that

Even doing it in the form of a novel, without an actual game, would've been better than what you did

It's hard to convey how absolutely revolutionary everything about Half-Life was back in 1998. HL 2 was really mediocre in comparison, the only innovation was basically the gravity gun, which wasn't much more than a gimmick. Valve can't bring the level of sheer HL1 genius anymore, Gaben knows that; better nothing than a bad end

HL 2 was objectively a bad game.

The world, characters and lore are objectively uninteresting and generic.

What made HL2 even remotely playable: fancy physics and technology (at the time) that is now outdated and irrelevant.

And lastly, nobody with a functional braincell cares.

Move out of your parents basement and go have s*x.

Nah, you wish though incel.

I still got that free steam redeem coupon from 2004 for HL2 from when I bought my first GPU.

I'm just not a Manchild whose stuck in past and has to attempt to relive their childhood through nostalgia and comodity-worship.

Cope and seethe my friend, go play with some legos or something and cool off a bit, maybe your wife's bf can join and you can build morgon freeman together.

Valve is not a game developer. They are a game retailer. Anyone who treats them as a serious developer is a fanboy commodity fetishist stuck in past.

Still waiting for Day of Defeat 2 and Ricochet 2.

Shit, maybe we need to wait for Artifact 2 and Deadbolt 2 before we can move to a bigger number.

i've had two g*mer friends die before HL3 was released which isn't a lot considering it's been 18 years but i'm starting to suspect most of us will hit the dirt before the story is concluded
