Im betting Metaphor because Atlus has finnaly built up enough normie clout with Persona 5. I could see the game awards giving it ti metaphor as a "retroactive" award for their legacy. This is a common award show thing when a major studio/brand gets snubbed too much.

Yeah, I'm leaning toward Metaphor mostly because every other option is fairly weak (Astro Bot is a competent 3D platformer that came and went, Balatro is good but also indie, Wukong is too popular with chuds as someone else said, Erdtree really should not be on there (but it is for sure the dramapilled choice), Rebirth got a crazy high Metacritic but it was also at the beginning of the year and I feel like recency bias is yuge with this process. Metaphor feels like it has the least baggage but I don't know it has much going for it either. Obviously, Erdtree is the most possible dark horse since it's Elden Ring but I could see Wukong winning on the basis of being the first Chink AAA title plus it making waves with its initial sales.
