Wasnt the monetisation just the final nail in the coffin, and the beyond-parody DEI and lame character design (for an oversaturated genre to boot) the real reason it flopped so hard?

What it really showed is that Sony's about a decade behind in terms of game design philosophy. I think Concord unironically would've been well-received (or at least okay-received) if it came out in 2015-16. Back then people weren't really tired of millennial writing or Marvelesque character design or shoehorned inclusion like they are now.

It wouldnt have and it's fun to revel in others failures literally everyone does it. GCJ has just picked that specific game to clutch pearls over but if it wasnt politicized theyd join in
